Air Asia Philippines reported a high on-time performance (OTP) rate in all its domestic and international flights in the early weeks of the second quarter.
The Philippine unit of AirAsia Malaysia recorded a high 99 percent OTP during the Holy Week where the Manila International Airport also experienced an influx of departing and arriving guests. It reported a perfect 100 percent OTP on 7, 11, and 12 April.
AirAsia Philippines also registered the highest OTP in the whole AirAsia operations with a 94 percent rating from April 1-9.
OTP is a standardized comparison of how an airline follows its published schedule. An airline is considered on time if it arrives or takes off within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
“We know how important it is for our guests to reach their destinations safely and on time. Whether it be a business trip or a family vacation, every minute counts. That’s why our Allstar team works tirelessly together to ensure that our guests not only get the best value deals each time they fly with us but more importantly a committed air travel partner that values their precious time,” Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines communications and public affairs country head said.
Earlier, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) proposed the publication of the airlines’ OTP and made accessible to all passengers who book flights. This will enable guests to carefully plan their flights and travel itinerary especially those with connecting flights or traveling from one airport to another.
AirAsia Philippines also reminds its guests of the scheduled transfer of all of its domestic flights from NAIA Terminals 3 (Cebu and Boracay) and 4 to NAIA Terminal 2 effective 1 July.
The budget airline earlier recorded a 383 percent increase in passenger volume to 4.21 million last year from only 875,927 passengers in 2021.
In the fourth quarter alone, AirAsia Philippines transported 1.44 million passengers, higher by 307 percent from 354,886 passengers in the same period in 2021.
Its load factor rose to 89 percent last year from 80 percent in the same period in 2021. Fourth-quarter load factor also rose to 87 percent from 85 percent.
As of February 13, AirAsia Philippines operates daily flights from Manila to Bacolod, Cebu, Cagayan, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo, Caticlan (Boracay), Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Zamboanga. Other interisland destinations flying out of AirAsia’s Cebu hub include Cagayan, Davao, Caticlan, Puerto Princesa and Clark.
AirAsia Philippines’ active international destinations include Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei, Osaka, Incheon, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bali.
