The Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC) on Friday projected completing the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 within the first three months next year.
Raul L. Ignacio, president and general manager of CIC, said once the segment is completed, the travel time to Sucat Road from Cavitex (Coastal Road) and vice versa will cut by 10 minutes, making the daily commute more efficient and seamless for motorists.
Ignacio said the company is scheduled to begin girder launching at the segment’s R1 Interchange from 15 to 25 September from 10 pm to 4 am.
As consequence, the CIC will implement counterflow schemes at the Parañaque Toll Plaza from 15 to 19 September for Manila-bound traffic, and from 19 to 25 September for Cavite-bound traffic. To help ease during the activity, the CIC will activate counterflow lanes as needed.
The R-1 Interchange is a vital 1.9-kilometer segment (Segment 2) of the CAVITEX C5 Link project, which is a 7.7-kilometer, 2 x 3 lane expressway connecting CAVITEX R1 to C5 Road in Taguig.
Once completed, the CAVITEX C5 Link will serve over 50,000 vehicles per day, significantly reduce travel time to and from Makati and Taguig from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite Province, ultimately easing traffic congestion in Metro Manila.
CIC is a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC).
Aside from CAVITEX and CAVITEX C5 Link, MPTC also holds concession rights at the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), the NLEX Connector Road, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
