Expansion program seen driving Eastern Communication revenue 17% higher this year

Eastern Communications projects a 17 percent increase in revenue this year on the back of the expansion of its product offerings.

Mike Castaneda, company vice president and head of sales, said the company targets P4.8 billion in revenue this year, higher than only P4.1 billion in 2023.

“I think we can deliver that with the quality of our service,” he confidently said.

Edsel Paglinawan, vice president and head for Product and Innovation, said the diversity of their ICT offerings reflect Eastern Communication’s commitment to providing solutions that address the evolving concerns of businesses.

“By introducing a broader array of business management tools, we aim to equip our customers with the resources they need to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and drive growth. This strategic approach underscores our dedication to innovation and customer-centricity,” Paglinawan said.

Eastern Communications co-coordinator Vince Tempongko is optimistic that the expansion will drive significant growth in market share, revenue, and client base.

“With the recent expansion of service areas and the diversification of our product portfolio, we’re optimistic about our current position. We foresee additional growth opportunities as we continue to expand in the future,” he added.

The company has allocated  P1.15 billion in capital expenditures in 2024, higher from P1.04 billion in 2023.

Eastern Communications aims to augment efforts into more sites and business hubs while also continuing its network infrastructure improvements and restoration program across the country.

The target areas – including Iloilo, Davao, Bohol, Boracay, CDO, Bacolod, and Dumaguete- were selected for their potential to enhance national connectivity and address digital disparities. These areas offer opportunities for broader internet access and are conducive to fostering economic growth.

The company also expects to attract new customers, particularly from the newly serviced areas as a result of its expansion initiatives and the implementation of the Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network Express Route.

The PDSCN Express Route became operational in February this year, encompassing the following points: Lucena City, Quezon; Boac, Marinduque; Calatrava, Tablas Island, Romblon; Roxas City, Capiz; Placer, Masbate; Palompon, Leyte; Lapu-Lapu, Cebu; Talisay City, Cebu; Tagbilaran City, Bohol; and Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.
