Manila Water Co. Inc. is completing facility enhancements at its Luzon Avenue Treatment Plant (LTP) in Quezon City that will improve its environmental protection, operational efficiency and safety and water quality standards reliability.
The P78 million LTP upgrade project has already completed building a chemical storage room to ensure compliance with hazardous chemical handling protocols and the installation of an additional train to the ultrafiltration unit 5 that collects accurate data to maintain water safety standards for over 20,000 households in Quezon City.
The LTP facility also maintains environmental protection protocols with the completed installation of the improved bund wall surrounding the chemical-enhanced backwash areas and the clean-in-place storage tanks to prevent potential spills and leakages.
Manila Water said additional lighting and safety signage were also installed as well as strategically placed eyewash stations, emergency showers and fire extinguishers to improve the facility’s personnel safety and emergency preparedness..
Ongoing additional upgrades expected to be completed by the fourth quarter include the renovation of the motor control center to streamline operational efficiency, augmentation of security features and construction of an access road to improve traffic flow.

Manila Water mainly serves customers in Makati, Pasig, Pateros, Marikina, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Taguig, some parts of Quezon City and Manila; and several towns in Rizal province that include Taytay, Teresa, Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, San Mateo and Rodriguez.
It also has partnerships with water districts in Tagum, Davao del Norte; Bulacan; Clark in Pampanga; Calasiao in Pangasinan; San Jose in Nueva Ecija; Laguna; Boracay in Aklan; Cebu; as well as with property developments through Estate Water.
Overseas, Manila Water has operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
