Klook, Asia’s leading travel platform, marks its 10th anniversary by announcing a significant economic impact, contributing USD 7.2 billion to the Asia Pacific tourism economy in 2023 and supporting over 219,000 jobs, according to a new report from Oxford Economics.
As part of its anniversary celebration, Klook is launching a series of responsible tourism initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable practices and supporting local communities. The company, which partners predominantly with small and medium businesses, emphasizes its commitment to creating economic opportunities and promoting sustainable tourism.
“Our first ten years have focused on building a platform that enables unforgettable experiences while supporting local communities,” said Klook CEO Ethan Lin.
Klook has also joined the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, pledging to implement eco-friendly travel standards and enhance animal welfare at elephant sanctuaries. The initiative includes over 200 certified sustainable activities worldwide and aims to deepen connections between travelers and local cultures, particularly in the Philippines, where Klook has partnered with PADI to offer sustainable diving experiences.
In honor of its milestone, Klook is providing thousands of complimentary local tours led by local experts, allowing travelers to engage authentically with the rich cultural heritage of various destinations.
