Tech firm champions empowerment for Filipino PWDs and women

Lenovo Philippines is enhancing workplace inclusion and supporting community initiatives, as highlighted in its 18th annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report.

The tech giant aims to tackle employment inequality and educational disparities by promoting digital inclusion for women and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Lenovo has achieved a 20 percent representation of women in executive roles and a notable 29 percent in technical positions. Through partnerships with organizations like Ashoka and Virtualahan, Lenovo is equipping PWDs with essential digital skills for in-demand jobs.

“Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our mission in the Philippines,” said Michael Ngan, president and general manager of Lenovo Philippines. He emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workforce that mirrors community diversity.

The report also outlines Lenovo’s sustainability efforts, revealing a 40 percent increase in product reuse and recycling since 2017. Last month, Lenovo’s employees engaged in STEM activities for students in Tondo, Manila, demonstrating the company’s dedication to community service and environmental stewardship.

With a global philanthropic impact of USD21 million, Lenovo is striving to build a more sustainable future through its “Smarter Technology for All” vision.
