Cebu Pacific added another advanced aircraft to its fleet on Friday, with the arrival of its 17th aircraft this year, a cutting-edge Airbus A321neo. The 236-seater landed in Manila on 24 December 2024, marking a significant milestone as the airline’s fleet grew to 91 commercial planes.
Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said the new addition enhances the airline’s ability to meet increasing travel demand. “The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising travel demand and our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,” Lao said.
The A321neo is part of Airbus’ next-generation aircraft family, offering improved fuel efficiency—consuming 15 percent less fuel per flight—and producing less noise compared to older models. These features align with Cebu Pacific’s sustainability goals, as reduced fuel consumption also leads to a decrease in carbon emissions.
Cebu Pacific’s ongoing fleet expansion follows a landmark agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney announced earlier this year. On October 2, the airline signed a purchase agreement for up to 152 A321neo aircraft, a deal valued at approximately USD24 billion (P1.4 trillion). This is the largest aviation purchase in Philippine history.
With one of the youngest fleets in the world, Cebu Pacific’s diversified fleet includes 10 Airbus A330s, 40 Airbus A320s, 26 A321s, and 15 ATR turboprops, giving the airline extensive network coverage across the Philippines and beyond.
