Cebu Pacific moves turboprop flights to Clark, shuffling passenger options

Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Thursday announced gradually shifting its turboprop aircraft operations from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 to Clark International Airport (CRK), starting 30 March 2025. This move, in line with a resolution from the Manila Slot Coordination Committee (MSCC) issued in December last year, will impact passengers flying on Cebgo (DG) routes to Masbate and Siargao.

The shift is part of Cebu Pacific’s broader strategy to optimize airport capacity and improve the overall passenger experience. However, this change also means the cancellation of direct flights from Manila to Surigao. Passengers affected by this change will have the option to connect through Cebu, which may add extra travel time and inconvenience for some.

While the move aims to relieve congestion at NAIA, it also underscores the growing importance of Clark International Airport (CRK) as a hub for domestic and regional flights. Cebu Pacific’s expansion at CRK is a direct response to increasing passenger demand, with the airline having served 24.5 million passengers in 2024, a 17.6 percent increase from the previous year.

Meanwhile, AirSwift, a boutique carrier now fully owned by Cebu Pacific, will continue to operate out of NAIA Terminal 2 until March 2026, maintaining services to popular destinations like El Nido, Coron, and Boracay.

As the airline expands its network, passengers can expect more changes as Cebu Pacific continues to evolve its services, which include a fleet of 98 aircraft and operations to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations.
