AppleOne Properties optimistic on tourism growth

Cebu-based AppleOne Properties Inc. expressed optimism for continued growth in the country’s tourism sector in 2025, despite industry headwinds, with the company committed to strategic developments and key collaborations across the Visayas and Mindanao.

AppleOne’s bullish outlook contrasts with caution from consultancy firms like Leechiu Property Consultants, which have warned of challenges in the hospitality market. Ranked as the seventh leading hotel developer in the country, AppleOne is set to expand its portfolio significantly with over 1,000 hotel keys in the next six to seven years. The company’s future development projects will surpass competitors such as Robinsons Hotels, Cebu Landmasters Inc., and Ayala Land Hotels.

“We remain steadfast in our vision to elevate the tourism and property sectors in the VisMin region, even as the industry navigates challenging economic conditions,” said Ray Go Manigsaca, president and CEO of AppleOne. The company continues to forge strategic partnerships and develop world-class properties in the country’s prime tourism destinations.

AppleOne’s hospitality projects include the Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort and Residences, JW Marriott Panglao Island Resort and Spa, and the upcoming Radisson Blu Hotel and Residences in Cagayan de Oro, among others. Its investments are aligned with a report from Leechiu Property Consultants, which predicts that 42 percent of the country’s new hotel keys will be in the Visayas, particularly in Boracay, Mactan Island, and Panglao—regions where AppleOne is making significant strides.

“The increasing demand for sustainable tourism and mixed-use developments presents a prime opportunity for us to drive sustainable growth and contribute to local economies,” Manigsaca added. AppleOne’s approach ensures the delivery of world-class accommodations, further positioning the Philippines as a premier destination for both local and international tourists.

Despite the broader economic challenges, AppleOne sees 2025 as a year of opportunity, continuing to strengthen its position in the Philippine tourism sector.
