Kaspersky is launching “Confronting IT’s Career Barriers”, an innovative interactive test designed to raise awareness about the challenges hindering career progression in the tech industry. This game-like tool prompts users to choose between two common workplace obstacles — such as gender bias and work-life balance issues — to explore which barriers they’re willing to tolerate. By doing so, it highlights the significant impact these barriers have on both individual careers and the broader tech landscape.
The tech industry continues to face gender and diversity gaps, with women holding just 10 percent of senior STEM positions. This new initiative by Kaspersky encourages users to rethink their perceptions of workplace hurdles and provides practical advice on how to overcome them. At the end of the test, participants gain insights into the real-world impact of these obstacles and learn about strategies to advocate for change within their organizations.
Kaspersky also showcases its own inclusive practices, such as flexible work arrangements and mentorship programs, aimed at promoting equal opportunities and career growth for all employees, regardless of gender. By fostering a more inclusive work environment, the company hopes to inspire industry-wide change.
Maria Losyukova, head of ESG at Kaspersky, said that addressing these challenges is crucial to building a more fair and inclusive tech sector.
