Scott Vincent shines in Morocco with impressive four-shot win

Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent left no room for doubt at the International Series Morocco, delivering a calm, confident performance on Sunday to secure a four-shot victory and his second career win on the Asian Tour.

Playing at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Vincent closed with a three-under-par 70 to finish at 14-under for the week, fending off a charging field and putting together a near-flawless final round that included 17 greens in regulation. His only blemishes were a pair of three-putt bogeys, but those were easily outweighed by a strong finish that saw him birdie three of his last four holes.

Thailand’s Danthai Boonma made a serious push with a sizzling 66 earlier in the day, briefly setting the clubhouse lead at 10-under. He looked poised to make things interesting, especially after nearly holing out for eagle on the drivable par-4 17th. But Vincent, showing no signs of nerves, stayed locked in down the stretch and pulled away for a comfortable win.

American Peter Uihlein, who had crept within one shot of Vincent after making three early birdies, once again struggled on the closing holes—something that plagued him throughout the week. He slipped back to a tie for third at nine-under, alongside New Zealander Denzel Ieremia and Australia’s Maverick Antcliff.

Another American, Austen Truslow, finished strong with three straight birdies to secure solo sixth—his best result yet on the Asian Tour.

For Vincent, the win ends a long wait. It’s his first victory since the 2022 International Series England and a major milestone after a challenging stretch that saw him lose his card on LIV Golf last year. Now back in top form—and with his childhood friend Kyle Basson caddying for him—Vincent has racked up eight top-12 finishes in just 11 starts this season.

With the win, Vincent climbs to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit and moves into second place in the International Series Rankings behind Australia’s Lucas Herbert. He also becomes just the sixth player to win multiple titles in the International Series, joining a group that includes Uihlein, Carlos Ortiz, Ben Campbell, Andy Ogletree, and Sarit Suwannarut.

Reflecting on his strategy, Vincent emphasized patience and sticking to the game plan. “On a course like this, you’re going to make mistakes,” he said. “You can’t try to play perfect golf. You just have to focus on each shot and trust your process. This week, everything just clicked—and having Kyle on the bag made it even more special.”

The Asian Tour’s International Series now heads to Jakarta for the Indonesian Masters, set for October 2–5 at the Royal Jakarta Golf Club.
