Globe Telecom has intensified its nationwide fiber broadband expansion in keeping with the government’s digital inclusion agenda, particularly the DICT’s National Broadband Plan.
Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz underscored the socio-economic role of connectivity, saying, “We’re enabling households and SMEs, growing the digital economy, and empowering more Filipinos to participate in the country’s digital future.”
As of Q1 2025, Globe’s GFiber broadband portfolio has grown to 1.83 million subscribers, with prepaid fiber connections alone increasing by 53 percent. The company is strategically investing based on user demand, with average monthly data usage now exceeding 30 GB per user.
A cornerstone of this expansion is Globe’s successful community fiber migration program, which has transitioned users from copper lines to fiber in over 600 towns across 70 provinces—particularly in underserved and remote areas. These efforts support both the government’s digital equity targets and Globe’s environmental sustainability goals.
With ₱464 billion in capital and operational investments over the last three years, Globe continues to play a key role in advancing national broadband infrastructure, highlighting the private sector’s pivotal role in bridging the digital divide and enhancing the country’s long-term competitiveness.
