Philippine Airlines (PAL) is gearing up for the holiday season by expanding its domestic and international flight offering to accommodate growing demand. With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, PAL is ramping up its services to ensure smoother travel for passengers.
“With the Christmas and New Year holidays just round the corner, we continue to build up our network of flights, adding new routes and beefing up other routes with more frequencies, even as we plan for new connections in 2025,” said Capt. Stanley K. Ng, PAL president and chief operating officer.
The flag carrier’s holiday strategy includes the launch of several new services, such as the thrice-weekly Clark-Siargao route, which began on 3 December. PAL is also relaunching its Cebu-Osaka Kansai service on 22 December. Meanwhile, emerging hubs like Cebu, Clark, and Kalibo will see additional flights to Korea, including the Cebu-Seoul Incheon route (operating December 21 to March 4), and new Clark-Seoul and Kalibo-Seoul services from 2 January to 4 March.
PAL is further reinforcing its popular international connections by adding more flights to meet the surge in travel. The airline will operate an additional weekly flight from Melbourne through 12 January, complementing a recent launch of its Seattle route and a move to increase Brisbane service to daily departures.
To ease domestic holiday congestion, PAL is deploying 74 additional round-trip flights between Manila and key destinations, including Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Tacloban, and Caticlan, as well as between Cebu and destinations such as Siargao, Puerto Princesa, and Cagayan de Oro. PAL is also ramping up its regional services, adding more wide-body aircraft on high-demand routes such as Manila-Tokyo Narita, Manila-Bangkok, and Manila-Singapore.
The holiday schedule follows PAL’s broader network expansion in recent months, including frequency increases on routes such as Manila-Hanoi, Manila-Cebu, and Manila-General Santos. PAL also announced the launch of a daily Manila-Cauayan route, set to begin on 15 January, providing a faster option for travelers between Northern Luzon and the capital.
“Our goal is to help people reunite with their loved ones, and we’re committed to expanding our services to meet the needs of our customers and make holiday travel as convenient as possible,” said Capt. Ng.
