Converge ICT Solutions Inc. hit its two million fiber port rollout target for 2022, increasing the availability of its service to meet higher demand for high-speed connectivity nationwide.
The rollout in 2022 allowed Converge to claim its place as the largest fiber-to-the-home network in the Philippines.
“With this record deployment of ports, we are ensuring high availability in more areas around the country,” said Converge co-founder and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy. “Achieving our fiber rollout target is very much important for us to ensure that our resources are utilized effectively and to also support the growth of our residential subscriber base,” he added.
Converage reported to the National Telecommunications Commission that its fiber optic footprint has already exceed 613,000 kilometers, consisting of subsea, aerial, and terrestrial fiber optic cable network across the country.
With the rollout pace, Uy said Converge is on track to reach its accelerated target to cover approximately 55 percent of the 25 million households in the Philippines by 2023. Household coverage is already at 53 percent in September.
The household coverage is the potential number of clients a telecom company could connect to its network if demand warrants.
Converge has allocated as much as P23 billion in total capital expenditures for 2022 to fund the aggressive network rollout.
