Raslag moves to develop 4th solar farm, eyes 2024 completion

Raslag Corp., a Pampanga-based renewable energy corporation listed on the stock exchange, said Monday its board approved several contracts for the development of its fourth solar farm, the 35.2-megaWatt-peak Raslag 4.

Raslag 4 is tentatively scheduled for commercial operation by March 2024.

The energy company said the approved contracts involves the purchase of solar panels for Raslag 4 from Trina Solar Energy Development Pte. Ltd. for a unit price of $0.23, including the cost of insurance and freight; and the selection of Solar Systems Inc. for the construction of the solar farm, and Pure & Pam Inc. for the installation of the transmission line and construction of the switching station.

It will pay Solar System P204 million and Pure & Pam a total P62.9 million for the two projects.

As of last year, Raslag has a total generation capacity of 41.2-MWp following the completion of the 18 MWp Raslag 3.

Raslag said its board also approved a P273 million budget for its acquisition of a total 42-hectare property in Gerona, Tarlac which will be used as future site of Raslag 6.

Raslag is one of several energy firms already listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange focused on renewable energy amid concerns over pollution and the adverse impact on the environment of using fossil fuel to produce electricity.
