White sand beach calls, tourism allure lift AirAsia hiring to new highs

AirAsia Philippines is hiring more pilots, cabin, ground and technical crew to support the steady growth in flight bookings as white sand beaches beacon and the summer season fast approaches.

“With the resumption of our ASEAN destinations and flight frequency expansion, which greatly contributes to our overall load factor, AirAsia Philippines continuously expands our roster of flights and on-ground crew to accommodate the travel demand growth of Filipino travelers this 2023,” Steve Dailisan, head of AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs, said.

Last year, AirAsia Philippines hired 600 new flight and ground crew as the economic headwinds began to ease. Thus far this year, the airline already processed 260 new hires and looks to boost its headcount to meet the growing demand.

AirAsia Philippines flew 500,000 guests from out of its hubs in the Philippines last year but on Thursday reported having tripled this number as its forward booking until December 2023 continue to expand, especially for such popular local destinations as Bohol, Boracay, and Puerto Princesa.

To attract more passengers, AirAsia Philippines begins this month the promotional 3.3 Travel Fest program that offers a one-way base fare as low as P33 to such local destinations as Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, Tacloban, Cebu, and Davao.

Guests can also enjoy one-way base fares to Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen for as low as P1,033. Its 3.3 Travel Fest program is available for booking until 5 March this year for travels until 30 September 2023.
