Flag carrier Philippine Airlines on Saturday advised passengers to set aside extra travel time in going to the airport in Manila given the announced week-long transport strike that begins on Monday, March 6.
“We are monitoring the possibility of a transport strike in Metro Manila that may start on March 6, 2023. A strike would potentially affect commuters using jeepneys, buses or other public transport vehicles,” PAL said in an advisory.
“Allow more time to reach the airport . Please adjust your plans to allocate extra travel time to reach the Manila airport on time to catch your flights, in case the strike may cause heavier traffic jams or limit your public transport options,” it added.
PAL also said its own operations should not be affected by the transport strike.
“We do not anticipate any significant disruptions to our flight operations. We have contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions and help keep flights operating on schedule,” PAL said.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with relevant authorities to ensure that there will be no impact on airline services,” it added.
