20 MW solar power goes on-grid by end-March

Prime Asset Ventures Inc. subsidiary, PAVI Green Renewable Energy Inc., is all set to contribute 20 megawatts (MW) of power from its solar facilities in Orion, Bataan within the month.

This much energy, the company said, is enough to power up to 5,000 households.

TJ Mendoza, PAVI head of infrastructure and projects, said the Orion plant forms part of the investment plan to provide affordable and sustainable energy to households across the country.

Other projects in the pipeline include the 20-year power supply agreement from its 40.4 MW solar farm in Naga, Bicol for 15,000 households once fully operational and a 7 MW solar rooftop system in Tanauan City, Batangas.

Earlier, Robert Pereja, PAVI Green chief operating officer, said a 36 MW solar power project in San Vicente, Camarines Norte is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Alongside PAVI Green, the PAVI Power Group operates missionary electrification companies S.I. Power Corp. and Camotes Island Power Generation Corp. that provide electricity from traditional energy sources to 60,000 off-grid and underserved communities in the Visayas.

The areas identified in the pipeline include Camarines Norte, Bataan, Bulacan, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan requiring both renewable and traditional power generation facilities.
