    Senior transport official resigns

An official of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) handling the road and infrastructure sector will vacate his post effective Thursday, April 20.

“This is to confirm reports that I have tendered my irrevocable resignation as Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), effective on April 20, 2023,” DOTr Undersecretary Mark Steven Pastor said.

“As I have told DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista in my resignation letter, my stint in the DOTr of almost six fruitful years has been wonderful and fulfilling. It has taught me in so many ways what and how it is to become a true public servant,” he added.

Pastor said he wanted to remain in the service but “I believe it is high time that I should focus on my family, especially on my children, who are fast-growing up and have been feeling my absence.”

“Aside from this, I would also like to prioritize and improve my health, as I have partly neglected both my physical and mental well-being from dedicating most of my time tending to my work duties and responsibilities,” he added.

Pastors said he will leave the Office of the Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure in “very capable hands.”

“And I shall commit to extending every help needed from my end to ensure a smooth transition. I am leaving my post knowing that I have given my best and all, with my head held high,” he said.

“I wish the entire DOTr Family all the best. With hard work, political will, integrity, and love of country, I am certain that it will continue to achieve significant accomplishments for the development of the country,” Pastor said.
