Fuel prices at the retail level are to move generally higher across the country beginning a little past midnight tonight.
Seaoil gas increased the per liter price by P0.80 for gasoline and P0.60 for diesel but cut the price of kerosene by P0.10 per liter.
Clean Fuel, PTT, Phoenix Petroleum and Jetti adjusted their price higher by P0.80 per liter for gasoline and diesel by P0.60 per liter.
Caltex, marketed by Chevron Philippines, announces increases of its Platinum and Silver gasoline products by P0.80 per liter, and of its diesel by P0.60 per liter. Its kerosene product, however, is sold cheaper by P0.10 per liter.
The adjustments are attributed to higher-than-previous global oil demand this year by 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) to a record 102 million bpd by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
According to the Department of Energy (DOE) the average price of gasoline (RON91) is P58 per liter, diesel at P52.95 per liter and kerosene at P68.15 per liter.
Department of Energy data as of 16 May show a net decrease of P5.65 per liter for diesel and P6.30 per liter for kerosene but a net increase of P4.20 per liter for gasoline.
