The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Friday announced free rides for commuters taking the LRT-1 as part of celebrations marking Independence Day on 12 June.
Current beep cardholders shall pass through the line’s automated fare collection system (AFCS) gates merely tap their cards to avail of the free ride without charge from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Passengers without beep cards may get single journey tickets for free from the LRT-1 teller booths.
LRT-1 will follow holiday operating hours on Independence Day, with the first trips leaving both Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 4:30am, and the last trips at 9:30pm (Baclaran Station) and 9:45pm (Roosevelt Station).
