Filinvest Land accepts new locator at New Clark City Innovation Park

Filinvest Land Inc. on Monday accepted its first locator at its Filinvest Innovation Park-New Clark City in Tarlac.

In a contract signing ceremony, Australia-based StBattalion formalized its five-year renewable lease with FCGC Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of FLI, on two ready-built factory units, each measuring 2,500 square meters in gross leasable area.

The partners will invest $10 million in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant which will start operations next year.

Their product provides energy storage backup for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in homes and in large premises.

According to the partners, the plant will have an initial output of 150 megawatt-hour per year, rising to full first-stage production capacity of 1.2 gigawatt-hours by 2030.

At the lease contract signing ceremony were Tristan Las Marias, FLI president and CEO, Trevor St. Baker, StBattalion director; Delfin Lorenzana, Bases Conversion and Development Authority chairman and HE HK Yu PSM, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines.

“Filinvest Innovation Park-New Clark City warmly welcomes StBattalion as its very first locator. Their presence underscores the park’s vision as a leading sustainable business hub,” Las Marias said.

St. Baker said the plant will expand beyond production as the global battery energy storage demand balloons and convert the weather-dependent renewable energy generation into 24/7 dispatch-able electricity supply.

“We are excited to take advantage of the strategic location and growth prospects offered by FIP-NCC. With this partnership, we aim to revolutionize the Philippine transport industry through transportation powered by our high-quality EV batteries,” St. Baker said.

Filinvest’s ready-built factory compound will feature 10 prime model RBF units to be built on a 40,000-square meter lot tailor-fit for the purpose.

Each of the 2,500-square meter prime RBF units is designed for logistics, e-commerce and light manufacturing locators.

The Filinvest Innovation Park sits inside the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, a 9,450-hectare greenfield development at the special economic zone designed as an inclusive smart city.

The site is being developed to help decongest Metro Manila and as investment hub catalyzing growth in Central and Northern Luzon.
