MPTC sets start of toll operations at NLEX-SLEX Connector Road next week

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. is set to collect toll at the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road spanning the segment from Caloocan City (C3) to España Boulevard in Manila beginning August 8. The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has issued MPTC a notice to start collection.

Motorists passing through the NLEX-SLEX Connector will pay the following toll rates: P86 for Class 1 (cars and SUVs), P215 for Class 2 (minivans and buses), and P302 for Class 3 (large trucks and trailers).

Since it first opened in March, the NLEX-SLEX Connector Section 1 (Caloocan to España) provided toll-free passage to over 14,000 motorists daily.

NLEX Corp., the operator of  North Luzon Expressway, Subic Clark-Tarlac Expressway and the NLEX-SLEX Connector, targets the completion of Section 2 — the España to Sta. Mesa segment — by fourth quarter this year.

The connector road provides easier access to the so-called University Belt and ease traffic congestion in the cities of Malabon, Navotas, Caloocan, and Valenzuela.

The new expressway reduces travel time between C3 Road, Caloocan City and España, Manila from 30 to just five minutes.

Catering to all expressway vehicle classifications, the NLEX Connector is seen as growth catalyst as it increases worker efficiency and provides savings for motorists, commuters and companies.

It also boosts the local economy as the new road spurs business activities and unlock land values.
