    Gasoline sells higher beginning Tuesday

The various fuel retailers have increased the per liter price of their gasoline at the pumps beginning midnight Tuesday, 17 October this year.

By then, Caltex Philippines Inc. gasoline is sold P0.55 per liter higher although its diesel and kerosene is sold P0.95 cheaper per liter.

Phoenix Petroleum, Clean Fuel, Jetti and PTT also adjusted the per liter price of their gasoline by the same token but lowered the price of diesel by P0.95 per liter.

The mixed adjustments were traced to the buildup of crude stockpiles in the United States and the apprehension the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could widen.

Data from the Department of Energy (DOE) as of October 12 show the price per liter of gasoline (RON95) in Manila at P75.15, diesel at P66.17 and kerosene at P79.26.

Year-to-date adjustments show a net increase of P12.25 per liter for gasoline, P11.35 per liter for diesel and P5.94 per liter for kerosene.
