Fortified LTO information tech system up and running by November

The Land Transportation Office (LTO)  on Tuesday said it expects to complete the consolidation of its IT system by the end of November this year.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said by consolidating the agency’s Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) system and its legacy system would result in the full use of user-friendly online transaction processes.

“Right now, the good news is that we are in the final phase of consolidating these systems and hopefully we will be able to launch it before the end of November this year,” he said.

On the issuance of driver’s licenses, for instance, Mendoza said the process is 100 percent LTMS while the renewal of motor vehicle registration is at 90 percent LTMS.

For newly-registered units or NRUs that in the recent past was processed under the legacy system, is now 60 percent LTMS.

“There are still things to be done to make the entire IT system glitch-free, and that is the reason why we are now working double to make it available in the soonest possible time,” Mendoza said.

“I assure all our kababayan that we will not stop until all of these are consolidated and fully-operational, with the end goal of making all the LTO digital transactions reliable, fast and glitch-free,” he said.
