NLEX Corp. on Thursday said it will retain the discounted rate of P86 charged to motorists using the NLEX Connector until further notice despite the opening of the new segment.
The company earlier opened the España-to-Magsaysay section of the NLEX Connector designed to decongest traffic in Metro Manila.
“To alleviate the expected increase in traffic volume, we immediately decided to open the NLEX Connector España to Magsaysay Section. This should help improve the travel experience of motorists as this new section will make travel from Metro Manila to the North and vice versa, faster, and more convenient,” said NLEX president J. Luigi Bautista.
The opening of the additional 1.80-kilometer four-lane NLEX Connector España to Magsaysay section will help ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila, especially in major thoroughfares such as EDSA and C5.
Apart from cutting the travel time from C3 in Caloocan to Magsaysay Boulevard in Manila to just 8 minutes, it is seen to ease the traffic condition in Nagtahan, G. Araneta, Aurora Blvd, Lacson, Magsaysay and España Blvd.

Apart from cutting the travel time from C3 in Caloocan to Magsaysay Boulevard in Manila to just 8 minutes, it is seen to ease the traffic condition in Nagtahan, G. Araneta, Aurora Blvd, Lacson, Magsaysay and España Blvd.
It will also help improve access by motorists traveling from Manila, San Juan, and nearby cities as they enter the NLEX Connector Magsaysay Interchange on-ramp and head straight to the north via NLEX.
In total, the NLEX Connector has three interchanges located in C3 Road/5th Avenue in Caloocan, España and Magsaysay Blvd. in Manila.
