DITO Telecommunity Corp. said it is on track to pass the final mandatory performance audit of the National Telecommunications Commission scheduled next year.
Ernesto Alberto, DITO chief executive, said the company has built more than 7,000 base stations, covering over 830 cities and municipalities and exceeded the threshold 80 percent population network cover.
“Given this, we are confidently on track to achieve the 5th and final hurdle of 84 percent on schedule in 2024,” he added.
DITO earlier passed the fourth mandatory performance audit with a national population cover of 80.65 percent.
With respect to the minimum average broadband speeds (MABS), DITO was clocked at 74.97 megabits per second for 4G and 639.32 Mbps for 5G in all sites with combined MABS of 357.14 Mbps.
Alberto also said DITO has invested in critical infrastructure, via its main data centers including Batangas and Clark, Pampanga, to address the increasing demand for capacity and resiliency.
“This is supplemented by hundreds of edge mini data centers all over the country, enabling us to deliver superior network services closer to our subscribers,” Alberto said.
DITO has more than nine million SIM-registered subscribers at present.
Adel Tamano, DITO chief administrative officer, said DITO will launch its business-to-business segment within the first three month next year, targeting the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
“Choosing DITO Business means choosing a standalone 5G network architecture that is independent of existing legacy infrastructures. This will future-proof your business—we are the only telco in the country that can legitimately claim this,” Tamano said.
“Only DITO Business standalone 5G can unleash the full potential of 5G, offering enhanced speed, lower latency, and the ability to connect a massive number of devices simultaneously,” he reiterated.
