Petro Green Energy Corp. (PGEC) subsidiary Petro Energy Resources Corp. (PERC) has secured permits from the local government unit (LGU) of Bugallon, Pangasinan related to its 25-megawatt solar power project in the province.
This developed in time for the start of construction activities scheduled in January next year.
PGEC said the Bugallon solar power project is located in a 25-hectare site. The facility will supply clean and renewable power in the area beginning the last quarter of 2024. Its projected annual power capacity of 41,000 megawatt-hours offset as much as 29,056 metric tons of carbon emissions.
Bugallon, Pangasinan mayor Priscilla Espino, supported by the Sangguniang Bayan, posed no objection to the renewable energy project.
“We are grateful and we welcome this much-needed investment by PetroGreen here in our locality that will not only add to our power supply, but will also boost green jobs, social upliftment and fiscal benefits to Bugallon and to Pangasinan province,” Espino said.
PERC’s existing power projects include the 32-MW Maibarara geothermal power project in Batangas; the 70-MW Tarlac solar power project; and the 36-MW Nabas-1 wind power project in Aklan.
PERC recently organized the Rizal Green Energy Corp. solar projects in Bohol, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Isabela.
It has also acquired three new offshore wind blocks from the Department of Energy covering offshore northern Luzon, northern Mindoro and eastern Panay.
