Ride-hailing firm InDrive assembling top-notch driver corps following LTFRB accreditation

InDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, on Monday obtained Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) accreditation as a transport network company (TNC), paving the way for the company to offer ride-hailing services in the country.

“We are thrilled to receive official accreditation from the LTFRB, a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation,” Roman Ermoshin, director of APAC at InDrive said.

“As we embark on this exciting journey, we look forward to fulfilling the transportation needs of Filipinos, providing them with more choices, and contributing to the evolving landscape of urban mobility,” he added.

In the initial phase, inDrive will activate its application in the cities of Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.

The company is currently focused on driver recruitment initiatives before officially launching and expanding its services in the Philippines.

As a start, inDrive runs a driver registration campaign in the five cities between now until 31 December this year when drivers who successfully register with the platform receive a fuel voucher worth USD10. To participate, drivers must ensure they possess all the necessary accreditation.

Also, drivers can use the app without having to pay service fees when accepting rides during the starting period.

Prior to its Philippine entry in the ride-hailing market, inDrive established a firm presence in three other countries in Southeast Asia, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Globally, inDrive is present in over 700 cities and 45 countries.

Unlike typical ride-hailing apps, inDrive offers users more choice and control over their experience. Passengers can select their preferred driver, and vice versa. Once a ride request is confirmed, passengers are presented with a list of available drivers, allowing them to choose based on preferences like driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival.

Similarly, drivers have the freedom to choose the most suitable rides. They will receive detailed ride requests, including fare, pick-up point, and destination, enabling them to select or ignore ride requests without penalties. This provides drivers with flexibility, empowering them in their money-making endeavors.
