NEA adds two more electric cooperatives to the DDCC program

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) looks to add two more electric cooperatives by next year to the Digital Dashboard Command Center (DDCC) program which collects and analyzes data for optimum performance and service delivery in electrical systems.

NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda said the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) and the Cebu III Electric Cooperative (CEBECO 3) have been selected as pilot electric cooperatives (ECs) for the first phase of the DDCC.

Both were selected on the basis of their effective supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems in place in their respective systems.

The NEA also looks to collaborate with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to prepare more electric cooperatives for the SCADA system and the DDCC targeted to equip up to 60 electric cooperatives with the technology by next year.

NEA said it is also working closely with the Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives Partylist Representative Sergio Dagooc on a potential collaboration.

Almeda said a successful collaboration ensures against the various electric cooperatives being excluded from benefits provided by a unified front.

The NEA has pushed for the DDCC to better facilitate ground support for the electric cooperatives and serve their member-consumer-owners better.

NEA supervises all 121 ECs nationwide.
