A damp lease agreement with Bulgaria Air has allowed Cebu Pacific to expand its transport capacity and meet the increasing demand for domestic air travel.
The Gokongwei-led airline on Wednesday welcomed the receipt of A320ceo aircraft that helps it address the deficit in seat capacity.
The two 180-seater aircraft are deployed in twice daily flights between Manila and Cebu and four times daily between Manila and Davao from January to March this year.
“We welcome these two aircraft from Bulgaria Air into our fleet, which is just one of the various measures we are undertaking to strengthen our operational resiliency,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer, said.
“These additions will ensure that Cebu Pacific will continue to provide convenient, reliable, and affordable air travel to every Juan,” he added.
Bulgaria Air, the national carrier of the Republic of Bulgaria, has many years of experience in the damp lease of aircraft having partnered with airlines all over the world. Also known as ACMI, the agreement requires the lessor to provide aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) to the lessee or to Cebu Pacific.
Apart from the leased aircraft, Cebu Pacific now operates a commercial fleet of 76 aircraft claiming the widest domestic cover and at prices rated as more affordable.
The airline accepted the delivery of 19 aircraft in 2023 with more coming that expands its fleet to 92 by year’s end.
Cebu Pacific flies to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
