Expanding mobile, broadband subscribers seen doubling DITO 2024 revenue

DITO Telecommunity is sanguine about the doubling of its revenue generation this year on the basis of its expanding mobile and broadband customer base. It also anticipates finally turning in profits the following year.

Chief commercial officer Evelyn Jimenez projects DITO revenue reaching P20 billion this year, up from P11 billion in 2023.

The telecommunications company also projects achieving positive EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) by 2025. A positive EBITDA means the business already turns a profit.

Jimenez said DITO targets the enrollment of up to 16 million subscribers this year. Its current subscriber base is 10.4 million at the moment.

For  home broadband, the company projects adding 300,000 to 400,000 subscribers this year from 100,000 subscribers at present.

DITO earlier expressed confidence to pass muster the final mandatory performance audit by the National Telecommunications Commission in July this year.

The company said it was on track to hit national population cover of 84 percent in July from the current 82 percent cover.

DITO has passed the fourth mandatory performance audit with a national population cover of 80.65 percent.

With respect to the minimum average broadband speeds (MABS), DITO was clocked at 74.97 megabits per second for 4G and 639.32 Mbps for 5G for all sites with combined MABS of 357.14 Mbps.

The company earlier allotted between P2.5 billion and P3 billion as capital expenditures (capex) this year to fund an aggressive nationwide network rollout.
