Cathay Pacific’s budget carrier, HK Express, on Friday announced the start of flight operations between Hong Kong and Clark beginning 6 June this year.
This marks HK Express’ expansion in the Philippines soon after starting flights to Manila to cater to the rising demand for travel options to these destinations.
“We’re thrilled to welcome HK Express and expand our range of travel options, providing passengers with convenient access to one of Asia’s vibrant hubs.,” Noel Manankil, president and CEO of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), manager and operator of Clark International Airport, said.
HK Express is the 14th airline operating at Clark International Airport. This expands CRK’s network to seven domestic destinations 73 times each week and 10 international destinations 84 times weekly.
Earlier, Jetstar Asia, a Singapore-based budget airline, bared the resumption of direct flights between Singapore and Clark starting 16 June this year.
Jetstar Asia will offer four weekly return services between Singapore and Clark. This frequency will increase to five weekly services starting 18 October this year.
The route will be serviced by Jetstar Asia’s growing fleet of Airbus A320s and supported by a recruitment drive aimed at meeting the growing demand for travel within the region.
In 2023 the CRK posted remarkable growth with nearly two million passengers choosing the ease and convenience that it offers, marking a 158 percent increase based on 2022 numbers.
