When checking-in at SM City-Clark means flying, not resting or shopping

Clark International Airport (CRK) authorities on Friday lauded the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the initiative it took making possible for passengers to check-in at SM City Clark prior to taking scheduled flights.

The check-in facility at a mall, while novel, aligns perfectly with the goal of providing a safe, comfortable, and hassle-free air travel experience for passengers.

“We are deeply honored to be part of this collaboration to set up a city check-in facility. With the added convenience of checking in prior to reaching the airport, this will truly enhance the CRK’s appeal as an airport of choice while showcasing Clark’s location,” Noel Manankil, president and chief executive at the Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp., manager and operator of Clark International Airport (CRK), said.

This developed following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) among the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the Department of Tourism – Region 3 (DOT-3), the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), the Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), Premier Central Inc., and Plaza Premium Lounge CRK Inc.

The mall check-in facility is among the improvements at CRK facilities consistent with Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista’s commitment to deliver comfortable, accessible, safe, sustainable, and affordable transportation in keeping with global transport system standards.

“This collaboration is a template for further undertaking of other sectors to provide seamless air travel in the country. Let us all work for one Philippine aviation.”

    Transportation undersecretary Roberto Lim

Arrey Perez, CIAC president and chief executive, said the check-in facility adds convenience to passengers departing through the CRK.

“The check-in facility inside a popular mall will definitely have a positive impact because, more than just an additional service, it will add to the convenience of CRK passengers,” Perez said.

DOT assistant secretary for Tourism Development, Warner Andrada, said the facility helps showcase and promote tourism in the regions and aligns with the agency’s efforts ensuring convenience among travelers to further boost tourism in the country.
