The Department of Agriculture will soon accept applications for its 45-day Summer Youth Internship Program that will start in June.
Based on the Department Order No. 05 signed by Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., 15 slots—five of which are reserved for the differently abled—have been alloted for the qualified interns at the DA’s main office. The number of participants in regional field offices, bureaus, and attached agencies and corporations will depend on the availability of funds.
College students, high school graduates or out-of-school youth between the ages of 18 and 25 may apply for the program that has been implemented since 1993. The internship program is meant to initiate the youth to public service, serves as a recruitment platform for potential government employees, and provide financial assistance for future enrollment.
The daily wage of those who will be part of the internship program is P610.
Accepted participants shall be assigned to selected offices or units, depending on the requirements of those offices.
The internship program ends on August 5.
