    China, Singapore pursuing wind power project in Laguna

    China’s leading wind turbine manufacturer Goldwind and Singapore-headquartered The Blue Circle (TBC) are to pursue the development of the 100.8-megawatt Kalayaan 2 wind project in Laguna.

    In a social media post on Monday, Goldwind said the agreement with TBC was formalized in 22 April this year involving 17 units of 6-MW in wind turbines.

    Goldwind has a portfolio of projects in 38 countries complete with eight research and development centers worldwide. It has also delivered over 50,000 wind turbines the world over with cumulative installed capacity exceeding 115,000 MW and an operations and maintenance service capacity exceeding 64,000 MW.

    TBC pursues renewable energy projects in complex and challenging geographies across Asia-Pacific and has offices in Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.

    Data at the Department of Energy show installed capacity from wind power of 427 MW or 1.5 percent of the country’s installed capacity of 28,291 MW, excluding battery storage technologies.
