A CrowdStrike software issue has caused a global IT outage affecting Microsoft Windows systems, resulting in service disruptions in some industries and key sectors nationwide.
But Globe’s core services, which includes call, text and data connectivity however, remain unaffected, the telecommunications company said.
“The issue was isolated to a few Windows-based workstations that our employees use for work for the most part, and some servers that do not materially affect our core services,” said Anton Bonifacio, Globe Chief Information Security Officer.
Elsewhere, credit card holders report of denied transactions for even simple purchases such as a cup of coffee that embarrass people rather than hurt them.
Two other airlines serving domestic and regional destinations acknowledged having to contend with difficulties resulting from the event and warned of flight delays.
The flag carrier Philippine Airlines, however, reported no such difficulties and proceed with business as usual.
