Filinvest REIT Corp., the real estate investment trust of the Gotianun Group, has extended its lease agreement with Building Engineering and Design Co., a prominent New Zealand-based engineering and architectural firm.
The lease extension marks a significant expansion of office space in Filinvest Two, recognized as an EDGE-certified building powered entirely by renewable energy. BEDC has decided to expand its presence by leasing an additional floor, effectively doubling its office space to nearly 3,500 square meters by the end of the year.
BEDC, known for its global excellence in engineering and design solutions, initially established its Philippines headquarters with FILRT in March 2023. Since then, the firm has chosen FILRT as its exclusive space provider, occupying an entire floor with 1,724 square meters of gross leasable area). “We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with BEDC,” said Maricel Brion-Lirio, president and chief executive officer of FILRT.

Ben Powles, CEO of BEDC, said the company’s relationship with FILRT has provided the office space needed to expand its business.

Filinvest Two is among FILRT’s seventeen Grade-A office buildings located in Northgate Cyberzone, Filinvest City, Alabang. As of June 2024, FILRT boasts a total leasable area of 330,448 square meters across its portfolio, spanning offices in Alabang, Cebu, and a commercial lot in Boracay.
The expansion with BEDC underscores FILRT’s strategy of enhancing tenant relationships and solidifying its position as a preferred office location south of Metro Manila.
