Ingrid Power Holdings Inc. (IPHI) proposes building a 150-megawatt battery energy storage system (BESS) in Pililla, Rizal costing P6.88 billion, according to documents at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The project is separate from an adjacent 150-MW diesel power plant also owned by IPHI.
When completed, the BESS will connect to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ Malaya substation in barangay Malaya in Pililla.
The DENR has scheduled a public hearing set on 23 August this year at the Malaya covered court in Pililla, Rizal open to all who wish to give their opinion regarding the implementation of the project.
IPHI is a joint venture between ACEN Corp. and Marubeni Corp.
ACEN is one of the fastest growing renewable energy platforms in Asia Pacific that has effectively achieved its goal of generating 5,000 MW of renewable energy by 2025.
