FG Cold Storage Corp. unveils P755M refrigerated warehouse in Navotas

FG Cold Storage Corp. has inaugurated a P755 million refrigerated warehouse at the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) at the Navotas Fishport complex. The new facility has a handling capacity of 7,200 pallet positions meant to meet the increasing demand of the food industry.

Fay Bernardo, president of Frabelle Cold Chain Group, the parent company of FG Cold Storage, said the investment was made in response to strong client demand operating within and outside Navotas. The facility features a high-density storage racking system, 12 docking bays, and eight cold storage rooms with temperatures set at -25°C, ensuring optimal product preservation.

The layout accommodates marine traders and manufacturers, offering flexibility for storing frozen goods while facilitating efficient transaction flows. Farmers cooperatives can also rent space as they await additional cold storage options from the Department of Agriculture.

The inauguration, attended by DA secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. and PFDA acting general manager Glen Pangapalan, aligns with PFDA’s goal to enhance partnerships with the private sector, catering to food manufacturers, processors, and restaurants. The Cold Chain Association of the Philippines (CCAP) anticipates an 8 percent growth in cold storage capacity this year, underscoring the sector’s ongoing expansion.
