AirAsia Philippines sees surge in holiday bookings

AirAsia Philippines has reported a significant uptick in bookings for domestic and international travel as the holiday season approaches. The budget airline attributes the surge to travelers planning ahead to save money and avoid last-minute hassles.

From 30 October to 3 November, over 50,000 seats have already been sold, with numbers expected to climb. Top destinations include Boracay, Cebu, Taipei, and Bangkok.

“While the season traditionally honors departed loved ones, many guests are taking the opportunity for leisure travel,” said first officer Steve Dailisan, head of communications and public affairs. “Beach destinations are particularly popular among domestic travelers, while international guests favor places offering shopping, food, and cultural experiences.”

To manage the increased holiday traffic, AirAsia has bolstered its staff at NAIA Terminals 2 and 3, reaffirming its commitment to passenger safety and punctuality. The airline serves 12 domestic and 13 international destinations as of April 2024.
