Baliuag, Bulacan – Sumisetsu Philippines, Inc. (SPI), a subsidiary of Japan’s Sumitomo Densetsu Co. Ltd., has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Technical Center aimed at enhancing the skills of its employees and subcontractors.
The facility spans 6,000 square meters and features a 1,160 square-meter Training Center, a 620 square-meter Fabrication Workshop, and a Warehouse incorporating energy-efficient technologies.
SPI president Tomonori Nakagawa said that the training programs are developed in line with advanced construction methods, enabling teams to meet project deadlines while emphasizing technical education. He said the objective is to extend technical expertise to both Filipino and Western companies.
In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability, the center aims for LEED Gold certification. SPI is collaborating with TESDA to enhance the quality and recognition of its training programs, leveraging experience from successful initiatives in Thailand since 2014. Nakagawa emphasized that the facility will foster innovation and collaboration, positioning SPI as a key player in the Philippine construction industry.
