SM Prime Holdings Inc. announced the grand opening of SM City J Mall in Mandaue City, Cebu, set for this Friday. This expansion marks the company’s fourth mall in Metro Cebu, its eighth in the Visayas region, and its 87th nationwide.
Strategically located along A.S. Fortuna Street in Barangay Bakilid, the four-level mall spans over 100,000 square meters of gross floor area, providing an extensive array of retail, dining, and entertainment options. Notably, approximately 80 percent of its gross leasable area has already been leased, with anchor tenants including SM Department Store, SM Hypermarket, Uniqlo, and Levi’s.
The mall will also feature two Director’s Club cinemas, a curated food hall, and diverse lifestyle services, alongside ample parking for 1,000 vehicles.
Mandaue, recognized as a first-class highly urbanized city, serves as the industrial hub of Central Visayas, home to around 10,000 commercial and industrial entities. The region has demonstrated impressive economic growth, with the Philippine Statistics Authority reporting a 7.3 percent expansion in 2023, the highest among the country’s 17 regions.
