Globe Telecom is bracing for Tropical Storm Marce, which entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Monday and is projected to make landfall in Northern Luzon. This preparation comes as communities continue to recover from the significant damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Typhoon Leon, which struck consecutively in recent weeks.
As Marce intensifies, Globe is closely monitoring its trajectory. The company is proactively securing its network facilities in the storm’s path by deploying generator sets and batteries to mitigate potential power outages. Technical and support teams, along with emergency supplies, have been strategically positioned for rapid response if needed.
In addition to enhancing network resilience, Globe is prepared to offer connectivity support through its Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi stations in severely affected areas.
“Our country has faced consecutive storms in recent weeks, and many communities are still reeling from the impact of these weather events,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer. “We assure our customers that we are making all necessary preparations in our network facilities to anticipate the effects of yet another storm.”
Globe urges residents in vulnerable areas to prepare by stocking food, water, and medicine, assembling first aid kits, and ensuring mobile devices are fully charged. The company also emphasizes the importance of obtaining weather updates from reliable sources and advises the public to heed SMS warnings. To aid in this effort, Globe offers free data access to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) website for critical updates.
