NGCP Generators Conference strengthens industry ties and knowledge exchange

Power transmission service provider NGCP held this year’s Generators Conference focusing on enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange within the energy sector. This year’s event, themed “Reinforcing Partnerships through Deeper Appreciation of SO-Generator Roles,” seeks to foster stronger partnerships between NGCP, the System Operator, and power generating companies.

The conference took place in separate sessions across Visayas, Luzon, and Mindanao, bringing together key industry players, including officials from NGCP, the Department of Energy, the Energy Regulatory Commission, and other stakeholders in the power sector. The discussions highlighted critical issues such as generator operation, transmission system stability, and the integration of renewable energy sources, while also addressing grid challenges like voltage fluctuations.

In his opening remarks, NGCP president and CEO Anthony L. Almeda emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable power grid. “After five years, we revived this event to provide a platform for discussing the highlights for each grid, NGCP’s future outlook, and how our industry can work together to implement our programs more efficiently,” he said.

Almeda also stressed the importance of continuous communication and collaboration with generation companies and other energy players. “The need for continuous improvement and constant dialogue is vital to the smooth operation of the grid. Your insights are key to ensuring that we achieve a more sustainable energy future,” he said.
