Metro Pacific Tollways appoints new CEO, focuses on 5-Star service and expansion

The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) is set to welcome a new president and CEO before the end of the month, marking a significant leadership transition at the country’s leading tollway operator.

Arrey Perez, senior executive at MPTC, will succeed Rogelio Singson, the outgoing president and CEO, who will assume a new role at the company’s water business. Perez, who previously served as president of Clark International Airport Corp., proposes steering MPTC into a new phase of growth, with a focus on customer-centric improvements and expanding the company’s portfolio.

“We’re looking to finish the transition within this month, after completing the necessary orientation,” Perez said in a statement. “Our priority will be to enhance 5-star customer service, ensuring that our tollway systems are not only safer but also more convenient for all road users.”

MPTC is responsible for several of the country’s key expressways, including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark Expressway (SCTEX), and the Manila-Cavite Expressway, among others. The company handles close to a million vehicles per day pre-pandemic, a figure that dropped during the pandemic but has since risen as travels return to normal.

Under Perez’s leadership, MPTC will continue to prioritize its tollways’ safety and service quality.

In addition to its domestic toll road operations, MPTC has also extended its reach into Southeast Asia. It holds investments in Indonesia’s PT Nusantara, a diversified infrastructure company, and in Vietnam’s CII Bridges & Roads Investment Joint Stock Company.
