The Filipino romantic-comedy Hello, Love, Again has broken new ground for Philippine cinema, debuting at No. 8 in the U.S. box office with an impressive USD2.4 million in ticket sales. Starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, the film’s opening marks the largest-ever for a Filipino production in the U.S., as well as the highest theater average of the weekend at USD9,700 per venue.
Produced through the collaboration of ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA Pictures, the film also shattered domestic records in the Philippines, grossing P85 million on its opening day—setting a new benchmark for local films. Within three days, it had earned a staggering P245 million, including a record-breaking P90 million from a single day of screenings.
