Digital Disruptor: Converge CEO honored with PCCI’s Country Movers Award

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has recognized Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and co-founder of Converge ICT Solutions Inc., with its prestigious Country Movers Award for his transformative contributions to the country’s broadband sector and digitization efforts. The award, presented during the 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBCE), celebrates leaders who have significantly impacted national development, job creation, and inclusive growth.

Uy was lauded for his role in revolutionizing the Philippine broadband landscape, particularly through Converge’s push for high-quality fiber internet, which has expanded access to reliable connectivity nationwide. “Our entry into the fixed broadband market really challenged the giant telcos and broadened internet access for Filipinos,” Uy said, reflecting on Converge’s journey to disrupt the telecom industry.

In recent years, Converge has partnered with various government agencies like the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to enhance public services and support digital solutions for small businesses. Uy also highlighted Converge’s focus on expanding enterprise offerings, including cloud solutions and hospitality-oriented products.

PCCI president consul Enunina V. Mangio praised Uy’s leadership, noting the pivotal role of the ICT sector in driving the country’s economic development. Converge’s continued growth was also evident in its 2024 financial results, with a 14.1 percent revenue increase to P29.9 billion and residential fiber broadband subscribers reaching 2.5 million.

As Converge expands its portfolio into new sectors, including cloud services and data centers, the company’s growing influence in the digital economy remains undeniable.
