    PLDT faces possible workers’ strike

PLDT Inc., the country’s largest telecommunications group, said Friday that the rank-and-file union of its employees, Manggagawa sa Komunikasyon ng Pilipinas, has submitted the results of their strike vote to the National Conciliation and Mediation Board on 25 November. Following the submission, a 7-day strike ban is now in effect.

MKP has called for the strike in light of ongoing negotiations regarding the collective bargaining agreement, which has yet to reach a resolution.

PLDT said it is actively engaged with MKP and the Department of Labor and Employment to expedite the negotiations, aiming for a fair agreement that meets industry standards.

Despite the potential for industrial action, PLDT assured customers that it is well-prepared to handle any disruption. The company emphasized that it is taking all necessary steps to ensure that its services remain unaffected, and the company’s commitment to delivering uninterrupted, high-quality service to its subscribers stands firm.

PLDT’s management has expressed confidence that the ongoing discussions will lead to a timely resolution, allowing the company to continue serving its customers without disruption. As of now, the situation remains closely monitored by all parties involved, with a clear focus on avoiding service impacts.
