Globe Telecom projects 200,000 fiber prepaid subscribers by year-end

Globe Telecom Inc. announced on Monday that it anticipates its GFiber Prepaid subscriber base to reach 200,000 by the end of 2024, driven by surging demand from Filipino households. The service’s subscriber base already grew to 146,000 in the first nine months of the year, marking a significant increase alongside record customer engagement and the highest reload rates among Globe’s brands.

“We’re thrilled with the outstanding performance of GFiber Prepaid,” said Abigail Cardino, vice president and head of brand management for Globe’s broadband business. “Given our current momentum, we’re on track to hit 200,000 subscribers sooner than expected.”

GFiber Prepaid has struck a chord with Filipino consumers due to its affordable, no-commitment, high-speed internet offering. This model caters to households seeking flexible, budget-friendly broadband solutions.

With the rise in GFiber Prepaid users, Globe continues its commitment to bridging the digital divide, providing easy access to fast internet that supports Filipino households in their digital endeavors.

“GFiber Prepaid is a key part of our broader strategy to expand our broadband user base and meet changing consumer preferences,” Cardino added. “We’re confident that it will replicate the success of our prepaid mobile offerings and attract customers from both Globe’s mobile base and competitors.”

Additionally, GFiber Prepaid recently achieved a remarkable Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 65 as of August, with a peak of 71 this year, placing it in the world-class tier. This high NPS reflects exceptional customer loyalty and underscores the growing appeal of the service, which offers fiber-fast, reloadable UNLI internet with no lock-in contracts.
